Fashion World's Prom Come True

Prom–one of every teenager’s most exciting moments in high school. Some find themselves preparing for it months before to get ready for that one special day. Violence in Chicago, however, impacted the youth, preventing them from attending theirs. Chicago has seen a 71.9% increase in mortality since June this year, and the death rate under the age of 18 was high.

In an effort to bring some positivity back to the community of Chicago, Fashion World Ent. Inc. hosted Prom Come True, an all-expense paid Prom Glam Squad experience for five lucky young ladies. The experience included complementary Onyx™ Remi™ hair with installations, a Hairstylist, a Make-Up Artist, and a Nail Technician. Out of the five winners, one lucky lady received their Celebrity Glam Squad experience, which included complementary Onyx™ Remi™ hair with installations, a Celebrity Hair Stylist, a Celebrity Makeup Artist, a Nail Technician, a Mink Lash Specialist, and a personal Photographer/Videographer, along with a Prom Send-Off.

Fashion World Ent. Inc. worked with three Chicago public high schools for this event. Students who entered the contest submitted a video of themselves featuring their background, after-school activities, and the reason why they wanted to win the experience.

The competition went on for a whole month when Fashion World finally picked out their top 5 winners. The winners were Ms. Kiara Guzman from Hirsch Metro High School, Ms. Jalisa Howard from Dunbar Vocational High School, Ms. Lakeisha Spencer from Percy Julian High School, and Ms. Monique Ash from Percy Julian High School. The lucky winner for the Celebrity Glam Squad experience was Ms. Kardeja Branch from Dunbar Vocational High School. She graduated with a 3.9 GPA while working a part-time job and has an incredible personality. She is headed to Tuskegee University this fall. Fashion World Ent. Inc. will be holding the contest again next year and plans to open the experience to young men as well and offer complimentary haircuts and prom attire.
